Volunteering at a therapeutic riding center is a unique and rewarding way to make a real difference. By supporting individuals with disabilities as they work toward their personal goals, you’ll experience the transformative power of equine-assisted services and the profound impact they can have on lives—both theirs and yours.
From assisting with administrative tasks and events to helping in the barn, grooming and leading horses, or supporting riders through side-walking and unmounted activities—volunteers play a vital role in every part of our program. Your time and care help participants build strength, confidence, and independence.
The connections formed between volunteers, riders, and horses foster a warm, welcoming community. No prior horse experience is required—just bring your compassion and a willingness to learn. Every Sunrise volunteer receives training to become familiar with our policies, procedures, and volunteer roles. We’ll guide you every step of the way!
Your time and dedication have a direct, meaningful impact on the lives of our participants, each of whom faces unique challenges. Every individual at Sunrise qualifies for services through a physician’s confirmation of a diagnosis that may benefit from therapeutic horsemanship. Our certified instructors then conduct a personalized assessment and develop a tailored plan to help each participant work toward their individual life goals.
If you're looking for a rewarding way to give back and experience the joy of helping others grow and succeed, consider volunteering at Sunrise!
